Loyola strives to care for the whole person鈥攎ind, body, and spirit

Our mission, vision, and  are what attract the inspiring individuals who work at Loyola鈥攁nd why so many stick around for decades. No matter your role, there is a permeating sense of commitment and dedication to the students and the surrounding community: to help shape and support the next generation of leaders who hope to change the world for the better. Because of this, the Loyola community is a strong one in which employees find a sense of belonging, build lifelong connections, work with a diverse population, and discover a love for continuous learning and a passion for service. One of many ways some employees choose to take this passion further is by becoming a Messina Mentor for undergraduate students.

Loyola is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and inclusive culture for our entire community. Employees are encouraged to get involved through activities and programming that foster diversity, like the annual diversity reading groups, and collaborative initiatives that foster inclusion and equity, like OUTLoyola. Additional faculty development initiatives include faculty affinity groups, pronoun guidance, and equity and inclusion faculty fellows. Loyola has also implemented a chosen name policy and offers various training programs such as Safe Zone training, Racial Equity Foundational Workshops, and Unconscious Bias and Microaggressions training through the office of human resources.
