New Student Checklist
Welcome to Loyola!
We’re excited to have you join our graduate community. To help you get started, we’ve
created this New Graduate Student Checklist, which outlines the key steps you’ll need
to complete before beginning your program. From submitting important documents to
registering for classes and accessing student resources, this checklist is designed
to guide you through the process and ensure a smooth transition into your graduate
studies.
Step 1: Fulfill Your Enrollment Conditions
If you have been admitted with conditions, your official admission letter outlines the steps you must take to maintain or secure full enrollment.
Provisional Admission
Provisional admission generally means that Loyola requires your official transcript.
Please have your transcript sent electronically to the Office of Graduate Admissions
at graduate@loyola.edu.
Conditional Admission
Conditional admission indicates that you have not yet met specific program prerequisite
requirements. You should meet with your academic advisor to review these prerequisites,
determine how to complete them, and confirm the deadline for completion. Documentation
of completed prerequisites can be submitted to educationoperations@loyola.edu.
Probationary Admission
If you are admitted on probationary status, you must maintain a minimum B average
in your first 9 credits. We recommend scheduling a meeting with your academic advisor
as soon as possible to review expectations and support resources.
Step 2: Set Up Your Technology Credentials
Within 7-10 business days of receiving your decision letter, you will receive an email from Loyola's Office of Technology Services (OTS). Your Loyola ID number, username, email address, and initial password will be included in the technology information. When you first log in, you will be prompted to change your password. You will be able to access the system by entering your previous Loyola credentials. If you do not have the information or are having trouble logging in, please contact OTS at 410-617-5555 or ots@loyola.edu.
Please note all official communications after admission, will be sent to your loyola.edu email address. Forward your Email, if necessary
To access your email and registration portal, please log into .
Step 3: Complete Your Student Health Profile
All new Loyola students are required to complete the Student Health Profile. The profile must be completed on the secure Loyola Patient Portal, and some elements of the profile must be completed by a specific date to avoid having a registration hold placed on your student record. Details regarding those deadlines and how to complete the health profile can be found on the Graduate Student Health Requirements website. Any questions can be directed to Student Health and Education Services at healthservices@loyola.edu.
Step 4: Register for Orientation
A reflective learning and program orientation workshop is offered at the start of each fall and spring semester. This orientation will introduce you to Loyola’s School of Education mission, key instructional tools, and provide in-depth information regarding your program curricular. Orientations are by program.
New students will receive the orientation date and RSVP link in their welcome letter, which is sent via email.
